Bubba Gump Shrimp, Maui Style!

While walking Front Street in Lahaina on the island of Maui, you are bound to come across Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. Yes, it is the same one that you will find in the continental United States with a few noticeable differences. This Bubba Gump is done with the unmistakable local flair, a staple in Hawai'i. Everything is served with the true meaning of aloha.

I see it fitting that such restaurant would be conveniently located on Front Street, perhaps the busiest place in all of Maui County. I mean, the place is the heart of Maui and is also the location of some of Maui's most historical sites. Places like the ship Carthagnian II and the famed Banyan Tree are just some of the attractions to be found there.

It is also fitting that the restaurant itself is located over the ocean as the diners have a panoramic view of the very place most of their food came from: the ocean. The atomsphere is relaxing, the bustle of the dining crowd pleasant, the food almost second to none. The staff is friendly and attentive, the environment being everything that is great about Hawai'i. Even the names put smiles on the faces of its patrons.

Bucket 'o Boat Trash.

Shrimper's Net Catch.

And my personal favorite, Fishwich.

No, they're not literally feeding you rubbish when you order the Bucket 'o Boat Trash. In fact, that selection seems to be the favorite of many of the people who frequent Bubba Gump. The thing I love most about this place is the portions!! If you're a big eater like me, this is the place fore you. Their portions are enormous, enough to feed a small army. (or me by myself.) So mark this on your map for your next visit to Maui.

You'll be glad you did!!
